Chiro – practikos. To do by hand

Chiropractic is interested in the function of the nerve system (brain and spinal cord) and how it relates to health.

It is a hands on, drug free approach to health and wellbeing that works with the bodys own inbuilt homeostatic regulation to allow it to heal.

Our nerve system not only controls muscles and body movement but also digestion and how we perceive and relate to the environment around us, how we adapt and therefore how we respond to stress.

Chiropractic is a five year University course of study. Subjects include neurology, pathology, philosophy, radiography and of course anatomy and physiology.

Chiropractors look at the body as a whole and the body's ability to heal itself – our job is to simply help remove the interference so the nerve system and body can do so effectively. This allows your body to express rather then suppress, to switch on rather than dim and to enhance rather than numb

Ad- move to center

just – to balance

ment – of the mind

Because our nerve system is housed in our cranium and spinal column, often Chiropractic adjustments focus on high amplitude low force adjustments on dysfunctional spinal joints, or slow hold gentle cranial (head) and TMJ (jaw) releases.

Adjustments may also involve gentle visceral (organ) reflex corrections or extremity (limbs) because of the overall impact that particular area to the body as a whole. An adjustment may also be nutritional or mental/emotional in nature

Sub – less than.

lux – light.

tion – condition of

A condition of less than light (or life) expression.

An area of spinal dysfunction in the body resulting in dysafferentation (less than optimal nerve signals) to the brain and resulting suboptimal body function.
